Construction of a House in Triadi, Thessaloniki – From Architectural Concept to Full Implementation

In a suburb of Thessaloniki, in Triadi, a modern residence was created with the aim of functional adequacy, material purity and connection with the natural environment. The architectural approach was based on the purity of the geometry, the integration into the landscape and the internal flow of the spaces, while the construction was completely delivered, from the study to the implementation, in the context of integrated project management.

The building is developed on two levels (basement, ground floor) and is organized around a central, single daycare area that unifies living room and kitchen. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms complete the ground floor plan, which is naturally extended to a covered terrace, acting as an outdoor continuation of the interior. Access to the roof is via a hatch, while a side external staircase with a metal railing leads to the basement level, which accommodates auxiliary spaces and is connected to the back garden.

The load-bearing body of the building consists of reinforced concrete, with internal and external partitions made of plasterboard, ensuring flexibility, cleanliness and modern aesthetics. The thermal efficiency of the shell was enhanced with an integrated thermal facade system, while the heating was organized through an underfloor network with a natural gas heat pump. The frames are energy class PVC, with an emphasis on insulation and natural light.

Particular emphasis was placed on the configuration of the facades, where the vertical WPC linings function as decorative elements. Paced, they perform the role of a modern «showcase», framing openings and access points, creating visual interruptions in the horizontally developed body of the residence. Their materiality is repeated in the enclosure, contributing to a coherent design language. The project was consistently completed in the studies, respecting the environment and adapting to the real needs of the client, accurately serving the modern residential architecture.
